Lake Humane Society recognizes the importance of committed volunteers dedicated to the care and placement of the unwanted, injured, abandoned, and abused animals of Lake County. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to continue to care for, defend, protect and re-home the animals in need. Thank you for your interest in working alongside us in our lifesaving work. We cannot do it without you.
The volunteers of Lake Humane Society support our shelter staff in the operation and care of the shelter facility and the homeless animals awaiting adoption. Volunteers also participate in special events, mobile adoptions, and fundraisers. With hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and other pets to care for and our limited staff, we are always seeking volunteers who love animals and are willing to help.
If you are at least 16 years of age and interested in becoming a volunteer at our shelter, please take the time to fill out the Volunteer Application and return it to our shelter. You will then be contacted by our Operations Director to set up a volunteer orientation. If you have any questions, please e-mail our Operations Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
