Lake Humane Society recognizes the importance of committed volunteers dedicated to the care and placement of the unwanted, injured, abandoned, and abused animals of Lake County. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to continue to care for, defend, protect and find loving homes for the animals in need. Thank you for your interest in working alongside us in our lifesaving work. We cannot do it without you.
The volunteers of Lake Humane Society support our shelter staff in the operation and care of the shelter facility and the homeless animals awaiting adoption. With hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and other pets to care for and our limited staff, we are always seeking volunteers who have a passion for helping animals in need.
The current volunteer opportunities we have available include: Cat Care & Cage Cleaning, Cat TLC, Dog Walking and TLC, Daily Maintenance Assistance, Offsite Event Representative, Foster Care, Through these positions, you can assist in caring for our animals, improving the environment they live in, and representing Lake Humane Society to the community by promoting our programs and services. We also have various specialized roles for individuals with specific qualifications and skills.
To become a member of our volunteer program, you must be at least 16 years of age. Due to the delicate nature of a shelter environment, we are unable to accept volunteers younger than 16 at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
