Auggie's Pet Food Pantry

Auggie’s Pet Food Pantry is open to all Lake County residents who need assistance feeding their indoor pets, regardless of income.

Pets to Vets

LHS offers a 25% discount for all first responders’ police, fire, military, emergency dispatchers, and nurses on all adoptions and clinic care through the Cpl. Joshua Harmon Pets to Vets program. The discount will be given to both active and retired personnel. The person must provide a valid active or retired identification card.
Badges will NOT be accepted as proof of service.

Dexter's Seniors for Seniors

Are you 60+ and interested in adopting a dog or cat that are older as well? Our new program titled, Dexter’s Seniors For Seniors Adoption Program covers the costs of adoption for canines 6+ years of age or felines 8+ years of age, with adoption rates matching those posted on the Lake Humane Society website.

Working Whiskers

Adopting a working cat will provide rodent control without the use of pesticides! They may help reduce crop loss due to rodent populations. Some of these cats might prefer animals over people, some may want to be on their own, and some may want observe you while you do your work.

Lake Humane Society offers four different youth education programs. From education on preventing dog bites, to partnering with Boy and Girl Scouts, we have something for all of our youth!
