Thank you for your interest in hosting an event to support Lake Humane Society (LHS). For over 85 years, LHS has been dedicated to rescuing animals and connecting people with pets through adoption and other community services. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, LHS relies entirely on donor contributions and receives no government funding.
We value the efforts of third-party and community event organizers. To ensure the success of your event and avoid conflicts with existing LHS activities or sponsors, please adhere to
the following guidelines:
- Application Submission:
- Complete and submit a third-party event application at least 30 days before your event.
- Ensure your event aligns with LHS’s mission and projects a positive image of the organization
- Coordination with LHS:
- Consult LHS before approaching businesses, corporations, foundations, or individuals for support to avoid overlapping solicitations
- Approval Requirement:
- Do not print materials, seek media coverage, or solicit sponsors until LHS approves your event
- Legal Compliance:
- Obtain all necessary permits and licenses and ensure your event complies
with Ohio state laws

- Proper Use of Branding:
- Use the LHS name and logo accurately, adhering to provided guidelines.
- Costs and Support:
- LHS does not provide mailing lists, cover event costs, or guarantee
attendance

- Event Changes:
- Notify LHS promptly of any changes to the event
Upon Approval of Your Application:
- LHS will provide its logo for promotional use. Any other use requires written
consent. - Your event will be promoted on LHS’s website, social media platforms, and
community event calendar. - LHS can have a representative at your event if requested, subject to availability.
Animals at Your Event:
- LHS can try to bring a few adoptable dogs to smaller events by request. This means that the dogs we currently have must be a good fit for the event and will not be
available for on-site adoption. - For “same-day adoption” events, submit your request at least 8 weeks in advance, noting that availability is not guaranteed.
