Shelter Manager

The Shelter Manager provides leadership and supervision for efficient and smooth operation of the shelter and shelter staff. Oversees animal husbandry, enrichment, admissions, adoptions and euthanasia. Ensures quality animal care and shelter cleanliness, as well as excellent internal and external customer service. Ensures the safety, sanitation and upkeep of the shelter for staff and guests. Provides staff and volunteer training, prepares operational reports and educates the public about responsible pet ownership and animal regulations and laws. May perform duties of an animal care worker. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of management experience, preferably in an animal-related field. This position is full-time.

Registered Veterinary Technician

The Registered Veterinary Technician assists the shelter veterinarians with all aspects of the treatment and care of animals at the Lake Humane Society. The RVT also provides training and support to the shelter staff, volunteers, adopters, and clients with regards to shelter medicine, disease control, and animal care. Experience in a shelter setting is preferred. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Those applying for this position must already be registered in the state of Ohio. A minimum of 1 year experience in an animal hospital and/or animal shelter are strongly preferred. This position is full-time and schedule flexibility is required.

Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant role is pivotal to a smooth-running shelter operation. This individual will perform technical and routine animal care as well as conduct intake exams, medicate animals, vaccinate, place catheters and monitor during surgery. Veterinary Assistant will also provide training and support to the shelter staff, volunteers, adopters, and clients with regards to disease control, and animal care and restraint practices. A minimum of 1 year experience in an animal hospital and/or animal shelter are strongly preferred. This position has part-time and full-time opportunities and schedule flexibility is required.
