Job Opportunities

Youth Volunteers Lake Humane Society, Mentor, Ohio

Lake Humane Society invites youth ages 7-15 to participate in our Youth Program. The program gives youth volunteers an opportunity to get involved helping the animals at LHS through Cat TLC. Cat TLC includes socializing our cats to increase the likelihood of adoption, as well as making the time spent at the shelter more enjoyable for our feline residents. Socialization may include petting, brushing, playing with, snuggling or reading to our adoptable cats. It also gives youth volunteers an opportunity to learn how to properly handle and interact with cats, understand cat body language, as well as an overall understanding of the mission and work of LHS.

All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate in the program. Both the parent or guardian and the youth participating must first attend an orientation session. If interested, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@lakehumane.org for more information, or by phone at 440-951-6122 ex. 109.
